Who are the Night Nannies?

Night Nannies need to have excellent childcare-related qualifications or extensive newborn experience.  These include (but are not restricted to) NNEB, NVQ level 3, BTec, midwifery/paediatric/neonatal qualifications.

They will also have undertaken a recent paediatric first aid course and will possess an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau certificate.

The Agency interviews the Nannies personally and will then talk to previous employers and referees and all professional qualifications are checked.  However, the Agency strongly advises parents to make their own enquiries and checks to satisfy themselves as to the suitability and experience of the Nanny.

The agency invests significantly in the ongoing professional development of the team.  To this end, Nannies are offered free workshops in breastfeeding, first aid, post natal depression (in partnership with the Anna Freud centre), reflux and colic and nutrition.

Additionally, Night Nannies works in partnership with MNT Training to offer the only Sleep Training course currently available in the UK.  These are held at Reading University and facilitators include Georgie Bateman of Hampshire Night Nannies and Luci Wiggs from the Department of Sleep Research at Oxford Brookes University.

"Thank you for responding so quickly - I feel sure this is the beginning of a great relationship."

Do you know someone who may be suffering from post-natal depression?

This illness is too often simplified by calling it "baby blues" but it can have a lasting effect on the mother/baby relationship and needs to be approached with tact and discretion. Talk to us in complete confidence to find out how you can help.
